We have finally found a date for our Spring 2010 Recital!! The recital will take place on Tuesday May 18th, 2010 at Kuna High School. I will post more information as we draw nearer to May. Costumes have been purchased and will be arriving in April. Class pictures will be at the end of April in time for the recital. Please remember that the High School has first priority over their facility and can possibly surprise us at anytime and change our date. We haven't had this happen yet with our previous recitals, so cross your fingers that everything continues to go well!
Classes have begun to learn their recital dances. Please make sure your child is practicing at home as well. So far I have gotten great feedback from you parents about the classes and instructors and hopefully will continue to have positive feedback. Please fill free to always let me know your thoughts both good and bad so that we can make this a great experience for you and your dancers!
Thanks parents for all that you do!

Tuesday, February 2, 2010
Dear Parents,
First of all, let me say how much I enjoy working with you and your dancer, and how delighted I am that your child(ren) is enrolled at TIP TAP TOES! I teach dance for two reasons; 1) I love it – I am passionate about dance! And 2) It is my job and source of income for my family. We depend on my income to help support our family.
Unfortunately there are some who do not understand the second reason and are consistently late in making their payment or (unbelievably) not making their monthly payment AT ALL! I do understand that economically, these are challenging times. They are for me and my family, too. In addition, I have dance instructors who need to be paid. Therefore, I can not afford to allow this to continue and will be enforcing the following:
All payments are due the first week of the month.
Any payment received after the 10th will be considered late and will incur a $5.00 additional charge.
Any payment received two weeks late will incur an additional $10.00 charge.
Any payments not made by the third week will be grounds for dismissal from class with no refunds for classes or costumes.
Costumes for our next recital will be arriving in April. All monthly payments and costume charges must be PAID IN FULL before your child will receive her/his costume. If these are not paid in full before the recital, your child WILL NOT BE IN THE RECITAL.
Although we love teaching your child dance we can not do it for free. Thank you for being understanding and together we can make dancing an experience your child will enjoy and benefit from.
Thanks,
Kami Satterlee

First Week Of Dance!
Congrats dancers! You all survived your first week of dance!:) I am so excited for this season and after watching the first week of dance I know your dancers are going to love it too. This next week we will be taking measurements for costumes, so please make sure you come to class, and also make sure you have paid your registration and tuition.
Parents please remember if you have any questions or concerns regarding dance you may always leave a note and put it in the suggestion box (the same box as the tuition payements) I love hearing both the good and the bad, and am always looking for better ways to improve Tip Tap Toes.
Some of you have noticed that the instructors this season are teaching classes a little differently. Some days they will focus more on ballet/jazz, other days they will focus on tap. We decided that this is a better way for the dancers to really master the skills and technique that they are learning in class. This way they can spend more time on proper foot placement and positioning rather then having to switch shoes. I think this will improve their dancing abilities and make them better prepared for their dances in May. Thank you parents for all that you do and lets have a great season!

Recital Review!!!
Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to say what an awesome job you all did at the recital, you too parents! I cannot thank you enough for all your help and hard work, especially all the volunteers backstage. Wow, what a tight space....next year I'm thinking we need to go a little bigger! Thank you Thank you Thank you! Dancers, you looked so adorable in your outfits and I couldn't be prouder as your teacher. I think the recital went well, however there are a couple of things I would like to go over.
I did have a couple of people concerned about the music, and that some dances were short versus other dances. In the future, if we do one dance per class the dance will be the entire song so our dancers can get the most out of there dances, and those costumes you pay so much for;)
I would LOVE to hear your feedback both good and bad regarding the recital. We are constantly trying to improve so anything you have to say is always welcome. Please fill free to email me or leave a comment anonymously if you wish.
I would like to inform the parents and dancers that will be coming back with us for the Spring, Miss Christina will no longer be teaching at Tip Tap Toes. We have enjoyed having her teach this last season, but we will have 2 brand new teachers that will be teaching in her place. I would like to tell you a little about our two new teachers!
Our first teacher who will be teaching our Tuesday evening classes and our Wednesday evening classes is Miss Tamra. Tamra has been dancing since the age of three. She has training and performing experience in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. Tamra started teaching dance at the age of 12 and has been teaching ever since. Tamra was a member of the Idaho Falls High School Tigerettes for three years and was Captain her senior year.
She has received several accolades while competing, for most of her career. She continued her training, performing and competing with the Harvey Neef Mane Line Dancers at Boise State University, for three years. While on the team, she traveled and competed nationally, winning third place one year and national championship twice. She was a member of the Idaho Stallions Dance Team for one season and was a four year member of the Idaho Stampede Spirit Dance Team. She continues to serve as a choreographer for the squad.
Tamra has been teaching and choreographing for many years in Idaho. As an instructor for UDA dance camps, she has traveled all over the Pacific Northwest as a teacher for all ages and all styles of dance. Tamra has experience in all areas of dance: teaching, performing, choreography, judging, and continues her own personal education in any way she can. Tip Tap Toes is so excited to have Tamra join our studio!
Marissa Counter is another one of our teachers that will begin with us this Spring. She will be teaching the Tuesday afternoon classes as well as the Thursday evening classes. Marissa has danced all her life and has taught dance for several different dance groups. She was an instructor for Julie's Jazzworks where she excelled in Ballet, Lyrical and Hip Hop. Marissa has dance experience in Jazz and Tap as well as modern dance and has choreographed dance routines for her traveling competitive teams. She is currently attending BSU where she will be graduating with her degree in Criminal Justice. We are so excited to have Marissa join us this season!

what are Jazz shoes?
I've been getting some phone calls regarding "Jazz" shoes. Your dancer will be performing a "jazz" dance, but remember we use their ballet shoes for their jazz in class, so you will be using their ballet shoes for their jazz dance in the recital.
There is no class for the Wednesday classes this week. The recital is just to busy that day to do classes. There will be class for the Tuesday and Thursday classes.
